Timex TW2Y36200: The Q Chronograph on a Bracelet

Timex has spent the last few years pulling the Q back out of the 1970s archive, and the chronograph is the version that earns the reissue treatment most. The TW2Y36200 takes that motorsport-inspired case and puts it on an integrated stainless steel bracelet with a white dial, which is a noticeably different watch than the blue-and-leather variant even though the bones are identical.

White Dial, Navy Bezel

The contrast is the whole point here. A white dial with tonal silver sub-dials at 3, 9 and 6 o’clock reads cleanly against the deep navy tachymeter bezel, and the blue running-seconds register at 6 picks the bezel color back up so the layout does not look accidental. Dimensional metallic indices catch light the way applied markers should, and the date window sits at roughly 4:30 without crowding the sub-dials. It is a busier dial than the three-hand Q, but it stays legible.

Forty Millimeters, Thirteen and a Half Thick

The 40mm brushed-and-polished case is the same one collectors already liked, and the 13.5mm height is honest for a chronograph with a bezel this tall. Integrated lugs mean the bracelet flows straight out of the case rather than hanging off it, which is what gives the Q its profile. The bracelet tapers to 18mm and closes with a deployant clasp. The trade-off with integrated lugs is that strap swaps are less casual than on a conventional watch.

Quartz Chrono, Acrylic Crystal

The movement is a quartz chronograph running off an SR927SW cell, which is the sensible call at this size. The two pushers give you precise elapsed-time timing and the bezel handles average speed, without the thickness a mechanical chrono would add. The crystal is acrylic, the period-correct choice and also the one that divides people: it scuffs faster than mineral glass but shrugs off impacts and polishes clear again. Water resistance is 50 meters, and the solid screwed-down caseback has a battery hatch.

The Bottom Line

This is the Q Chronograph for someone who wanted the retro racing look without a leather strap in the equation. The white dial makes it read cleaner and slightly more formal than the blue version, and the bracelet gives it more presence. Go in knowing you are buying acrylic and quartz on purpose, not as a compromise, and it is one of the better-looking chronographs Timex sells.
