Casio’s S-Series takes the proven GA-120 platform and sizes it down to 45.9mm with a rose gold metallic dial against white resin. Full G-Shock protection—200m water resistance, shock and magnetic resistance—in a package that weighs just 56 grams.

G-Shock GMAS120MF-7A2: The S-Series That Actually Looks Good

The G-Shock GMAS120MF-7A2 takes the familiar GA-120 platform and scales it down to a 45.9mm case that works on smaller wrists without losing what makes a G-Shock a G-Shock. The white resin case paired with a rose gold metallic face is a combination that shouldn’t work as well as it does—but Casio’s been doing this long enough to know which color combos hit.

Rose Gold Done Right

The metallic rose gold dial is the centerpiece here. It catches light differently depending on the angle, giving the watch a warmth that balances the stark white case and band. The ana-digi display packs in a surprising amount of information—world time across 48 cities, a 1/1000-second stopwatch with speed indicator, and a countdown timer—without the dial feeling cluttered. That’s harder to pull off than it sounds.

G-Shock Tough in a Compact Package

At 45.9mm wide and 15.8mm thick, this is noticeably smaller than the full-size GA-120 it’s based on. It weighs just 56 grams, so it disappears on the wrist in a way that bigger G-Shocks don’t. But the important specs are all there: 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, and magnetic resistance. The mineral crystal handles daily wear without issue.

What’s Inside

The Module 5518 quartz movement runs the show, delivering about three years on a CR1220 battery. You get five daily alarms, an auto LED light with afterglow, and a full auto-calendar programmed through 2099. It’s the kind of feature set that makes you wonder why you’d spend more on something less capable.

The Bottom Line

This is for anyone who wants G-Shock durability without the bulk. The white and rose gold colorway gives it enough personality to work as a daily wear beyond the gym. It’s not trying to be subtle—it’s a G-Shock—but the S-Series sizing makes it genuinely comfortable for wrists that find full-size models too much.

G-Shock, short for Gravitational Shock, first launched in 1983 after Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe conceptualized a watch that could have a battery life of 10 years, be water resistance up to 100 meters, and survive a 10 meters drop.  Originally intended as a high-priced specialty item, G-Shocks are now considered to highly regarded collector-worthy timepieces.
