About The Product
Casio G-Shock GA2100BM-7A8: The CasiOak Goes See-Through
The GA-2100 earned the “CasiOak” nickname for its octagonal bezel that recalls a much more expensive watch. The GA2100BM-7A8 takes that formula and wraps it in translucent resin, letting you see the inner workings through the case and band. The silver metallic vapor deposition on the dial adds a premium look that punches well above its $130 price.
The Look
Translucent watches either work or they don’t, and this one works. The clear resin lets the internal structure show through without looking cheap, and the silver dial treatment gives it substance. The octagonal bezel retains the CasiOak’s signature shape, and at 45.4mm wide, it has presence without being absurd. It’s the kind of watch that gets noticed without trying too hard.
Built Tough
Carbon Core Guard construction keeps the 11.8mm profile slim while maintaining G-Shock’s shock resistance standards. At 51 grams, it’s light enough to forget about. 200-meter water resistance means you can swim, surf, or wash dishes without a second thought. The double LED light illuminates both the analog hands and LCD display.
Functions
World time across 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch up to 24 hours, countdown timer, five daily alarms with hourly signal, and a full auto-calendar through 2099. The dual battery system (SR726W x2) lasts approximately 3 years. All the standard G-Shock digital toolkit in an analog-digital package.
Why This One
The GA2100BM-7A8 is for anyone who likes the CasiOak design but wants something less common than the blacked-out versions everyone has. The translucent case with silver accents gives it a different character — techy, modern, and distinctive without being loud.

The Brand
G-Shock, short for Gravitational Shock, first launched in 1983 after Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe conceptualized a watch that could have a battery life of 10 years, be water resistance up to 100 meters, and survive a 10 meters drop. Originally intended as a high-priced specialty item, G-Shocks are now considered to highly regarded collector-worthy timepieces.
