About The Product
Casio GA110RL-1A: Heritage Colors on the Big G-Shock
The GA-110 has been one of G-Shock’s most recognizable shapes since its launch—big, bold, and unmistakably built for impact. The RL variant adds heritage color accents that reference the brand’s original design language.
The Heritage Touch
Red, blue, and yellow accents appear throughout the design. Each color represents something from G-Shock’s DNA: red for the passion to take on challenges, blue for water resistance, yellow for shock resistance. It’s a nod to the thinking that went into the original G-Shock concept. The base is black resin with gray dial elements, so the color pops aren’t overwhelming—they’re details for those who know to look.
The GA-110 Platform
52mm case, 17mm thick. This is a large watch by any standard. The analog-digital combo puts hour and minute hands over a digital display at 6 o’clock, with a speed indicator dial at 9. The 1/1000-second stopwatch is actually useful if you’re timing anything precise—not just marketing specs. Hands shift out of the way when you need to read the digital. World time, countdown timer, five alarms. Standard G-Shock toolkit.
Built Right
Bio-based resin case and band—Casio’s move toward sustainable materials without compromising durability. Magnetic resistance adds to the shock resistance. 200m water rating handles actual water activities. Amber LED backlight with auto-switch option. At 72 grams, it’s lighter than the size suggests. 2-year battery life on CR1220.
For Whom
At $130, the GA110RL-1A sits in accessible G-Shock territory. It’s for people who want the big GA-110 presence with a design that references where G-Shock came from. The heritage colors give it something to talk about beyond “it’s big and tough.”

The Brand
G-Shock, short for Gravitational Shock, first launched in 1983 after Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe conceptualized a watch that could have a battery life of 10 years, be water resistance up to 100 meters, and survive a 10 meters drop. Originally intended as a high-priced specialty item, G-Shocks are now considered to highly regarded collector-worthy timepieces.
