The Weekender is the watch Timex sells more of than almost anything else, and the reason is simple: a legible dial, a strap you can swap in about four seconds, and a price that makes it easy to stop worrying about it. The TW2Y31100 hands that dial over to Joe Cool – Snoopy in his shades and yellow shirt, leaning against the 8 o’clock marker like he has somewhere better to be. Character dials often go wrong because the artwork gets crammed onto a layout that was never designed for it. This one works because the Weekender dial was already mostly empty space.

A Dial That Leaves Room for the Joke

Full Arabic numerals run the outer track with a 24-hour scale printed inside them in smaller grey type – standard Weekender layout, which means the artwork sits in the middle where you actually see it. The red seconds hand is the smart part: it picks up the red stripe in the strap and gives the watch a second color to hang on, instead of leaving Snoopy as the only thing happening.

This Weekender does not have INDIGLO. Timex confirms it on the product page, and it is worth flagging because the backlight is the feature most people associate with the line. If you read the time in the dark regularly, look at a different Weekender. The navy-and-red striped strap is a one-piece slip-thru, so any 20mm NATO drops straight in with nothing to unpin.
