The compact CasiOak gets the silky-tone treatment. The GMAP2100ST-7A packs 200m water resistance, shock resistance, and world time into a 40.2mm bio-based resin case with a pearlescent cream finish and metallic dial that catches light better than resin has any right to.
About The Product
G-Shock GMAP2100ST-7A: The CasiOak Goes Silky
Casio took the already-popular GMA-P2100 compact CasiOak and gave it the silky-tone treatment. The GMAP2100ST-7A wraps the iconic octagonal design in a monochromatic cream finish with a pearlescent sheen that catches light in ways you wouldn’t expect from a resin watch. The metallic champagne dial, gold-tone indices, and blue-gray hands all work together without fighting for attention. It’s a G-Shock that quietly looks more expensive than it is.
Compact, Not Compromised
At 40.2mm wide and 11.2mm thick, this is one of the most wearable G-Shocks in the lineup. The GMA-P2100 was specifically designed for smaller wrists, and the shorter band length (145-190mm) means it actually sits properly instead of flopping around. Despite the compact dimensions, you still get the full G-Shock toolkit: 200m water resistance, shock resistance, world time across 31 zones, countdown timer, five daily alarms, and a 1/100-second stopwatch. Nothing got cut to shrink it down.
The Silky-Tone Difference
The “ST” in the model number stands for Silky Tone, and it’s not just marketing. The bio-based resin bezel and band have a matte pearlescent finish that feels notably different from standard G-Shock resin. The dial adds a metallic cream layer that shifts subtly in different lighting. It’s the kind of finish detail that turns a tool watch into something you’d actually think about matching to an outfit.
What’s Inside
The module 5730 quartz movement handles the analog-digital hybrid display. The analog hands track hours and minutes while the LCD window at 6 o’clock manages seconds, day, date, and function displays. Double LED illumination lights both the dial and the LCD. Battery life is approximately three years on a CR1025 cell, so you’re not thinking about maintenance for a while.
The Bottom Line
If the original CasiOak was too large or too aggressive for your taste, the GMAP2100ST-7A solves both problems. The compact case fits smaller wrists without looking like a toy, and the silky-tone cream finish dials back the sport-watch intensity. It’s still a G-Shock where it counts—200m WR, shock-proof, built to last—but one that wouldn’t look out of place with a casual weekend outfit.

The Brand
G-Shock, short for Gravitational Shock, first launched in 1983 after Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe conceptualized a watch that could have a battery life of 10 years, be water resistance up to 100 meters, and survive a 10 meters drop. Originally intended as a high-priced specialty item, G-Shocks are now considered to highly regarded collector-worthy timepieces.
