The CasiOak goes translucent with a metallic sky blue dial that punches above its weight. Vapor deposition on the dial, hands, and indices gives the GA2100BM-7A2 a shimmer that standard resin G-Shocks miss entirely. Carbon Core Guard, 200m water resistance, 51 grams.

G-Shock GA2100BM-7A2: The CasiOak Goes Translucent

The GA-2100 series earned its “CasiOak” nickname for obvious reasons, and Casio has been leaning into it hard. The GA2100BM-7A2 takes the formula somewhere new: a fully translucent case and band paired with a sky blue metallic dial that catches light like it costs more than it does. It’s part of the Bright Metallic Dial collection, and the vapor deposition finish on the dial, hands, and indices gives this watch a presence that straight-up resin models can’t match.

That Dial Does the Heavy Lifting

The metallic vapor deposition on the sky blue dial is what separates this from the dozens of other GA-2100 colorways. It shimmers with a cool, icy quality that plays off the translucent case nicely. The analog hands and applied indices pick up the same metallic treatment, so everything reads as one cohesive design rather than parts bolted together. The small digital window at 3 o’clock handles day, date, and seconds duties without cluttering the analog display.

Carbon Core Guard in a Clear Shell

Under that translucent exterior, the GA-2100 still packs Casio’s Carbon Core Guard structure. The carbon fiber-reinforced case protects the module from impacts, and at 11.8mm thick and 51 grams, this remains one of the slimmest, lightest G-Shocks you can buy. The octagonal bezel keeps that distinctive profile while the clear resin lets you see the inner case construction. Water resistance sits at 200 meters, which is serious capability for a watch most people will wear to the beach, not a dive site.

What You’re Getting for $130

Module 5611 inside handles world time across 31 zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, five daily alarms, and a full auto-calendar. Battery life is roughly three years on twin SR726W cells. The double LED Super Illuminator lights up both the dial and the digital display in white. It’s quartz, it’s reliable, and it does exactly what a G-Shock should.

Who This Is For

If you already like the CasiOak silhouette but want something with more visual pop, this is it. The translucent case and metallic blue dial combination works for spring and summer without looking like a novelty item. It’s a G-Shock that earns second glances from people who normally don’t notice your watch. The only real trade-off: translucent bands can show some discoloration over time with heavy wear. Keep that in mind if you’re rough on your watches.

G-Shock, short for Gravitational Shock, first launched in 1983 after Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe conceptualized a watch that could have a battery life of 10 years, be water resistance up to 100 meters, and survive a 10 meters drop.  Originally intended as a high-priced specialty item, G-Shocks are now considered to highly regarded collector-worthy timepieces.
