The Machine is Fossil’s answer to the “I want something bold” request. The FS6099 takes the industrial design language and runs with it—44mm black stainless steel case, textured black dial, and blue accents that cut through the monochrome. It’s not subtle, and that’s the point.

The dial features vertical striping that adds visual texture without being busy. Three chronograph subdials sit against the black background, with blue hands and markers providing the contrast. Date window between 4 and 5, “FOSSIL” logo at 12—straightforward layout that’s easy to read despite all the texture.

Built for Daily Use

Quartz chronograph movement handles the timing functions reliably. 50-meter water resistance covers handwashing and rain but isn’t meant for swimming. The black silicone strap is comfortable for all-day wear and handles sweat better than leather. Mineral crystal is scratch-resistant enough for normal use.

The Practical Take

This is a fashion chronograph that delivers what it promises—bold looks, reliable quartz accuracy, and a comfortable strap. The 44mm case is substantial but the 12mm height keeps it from being unwieldy. Good option if you want a blacked-out chrono with some personality.
